ABO (Artilerist C.B. BUYS). Kaplan Auctions July 2021

Vorm B shows that Cornelius Benjamin Buys lived at Irvine Laan 316, Macertain View, Hercules, Pretoria.

He served in Artillerie Staats II Battery. He fought from the beginning of the War 27/7/1899. Service ended 23/8/01 Sick and POW – sent to St Helena.

Places fought: - Rooi Laagte, Mafeking, Kraaifontein, Modder River, Victoria Wes, Verdiens Stroom, Donkerhoek.

There is also a copy of his letter applying for the medal. The medal application was dated 1943 so there is a type two suspender.

The POW Roll shows he was captured in Warmbaths.
