Thomas Breytenbach stated on Vorm “B” that he was taken prisoner on 3. Aug. 1900 with the surrender of Gen Prinsloo but the PoW entry No 9505 records the date as 30 July 1900.
Maybe he was not in the main batch of some 4000 Boers but was taken in subsequent mopping-up operations.

He was sent to Diyatalawa Camp in Ceylon.
