ABO (Burg. R.E. Benson). City Coins December 2021

Robert Ernest Benson. According to his Vorm “B” he served as a Burgher in the Marico Kommando under General J.C. Cilliers of Potchefstroom “dwarsdoor de oorlog – 11/10/1899 to 31/ 5/ 1902”. His Actions were listed as: Maasfontein (Magersfontein), Veertienstroom, Zellekaats Nek (Silkaats Nek), Elandsrivier and Kleinfontein. His medal application was approved in April 1922.

He presumably served under Vecht-Generaal Johannes Gerhardus Celliers.
