My Great grandfather Albert Edward Maidment, was in 2nd battalion Gloucester's. he set sail on the Cymric on the 1st January 1900 & arrived at cape town about the 22nd.
we have always known that he became a P o W november 1900 at Dewetsdorp. But no one new when he got release.
