ZARPS or Staatsartillerie, or artist's licence.

A couple of new pictures on British PoWs.

The first is: The Reddersburg Mishap: Men of the Irish Rifles and Mounted Infantry Delivering Up Their Arms. Sketch by Melton Prior

The second is: British Prisoners Waiting for Release: The Camp at Nooitgedacht. Drawing by Frank Dadd, R.I. from a sketch by Lt. Essex Capell, one of the prisoners.

As a follow on to the above posting of the PoWs in Nooitgedacht PoW Camp, I suspect the artist may have used some of the stereo optic photos from the B.W. Kilburn Series copywrite 1900 as shown here. The first one is No. 13817 and entitled "Tommy Atkins" South African Home, Nooitgedacht Prison, S.A.
The second is No. 13818 and entitled "The Boer Gurads at Nooitgedacht Prison, S.A.
The third is No. 13821 and entitled/captioned "Some of England's Nobility inNooitgedacht Prison, showing Mr. Goschen (entral figure) nephew of First Lord of Admiralty, S.A.
The fourth is No. 14183 and entitled "Boers on Guard at Nooitgedacht Prsion, S.A.
The numbering of the cards would seem to indicate that there are others in the series. It would be nice if they were posted too. : )

A couple of French postcards give the European view on the Boer War. Note the cards were posted in Lisbon.
