I have failed in my attempts to find out more about the Boer PoW Johannes Ma(r)tinus Vermaas. All that I do know is that he was captured and paroled, and allowed to join his wife and sisters-in-law on a farm in southern Natal. His free accommodation there for about one year (c 1901-1902) was provided by a Border Mounted Rifles soldier married to one of Vermaas' sisters-in-law.

It would help my project if I knew in which Commando Vermaas served, and where and when he was captured.
