Hello.

After 7 years with London Rifle Brigade Volunteer Corps, Gerald Andrew[e]s enlisted in 2RF on 23 Feb 1900. He served with 2RF as Corporal in South Africa from 3 April 1900 to 25 June 1901, when he returned to LRB. What I believe to be his QSA roll entry (as 8969 G Andrews) notes his membership of a Volunteer Service Company (VSC), and as I read that the LRB provided reinforcements to the RF, this fits. He qualified for all three QSA 'Colony' clasps, but no specific actions.

I've read the text on 2RF in the Units section, and wonder if anyone can point me to other sources that might give me a fuller idea of what he - and fellow VSC members might have been doing in South Africa, and where they would have been?

Most grateful for any pointers that come my way; also for any relevant photos?

Thanks
