Many thanks, I did find him on the census but he recorded his profession as an actor. I will delve a little deeper into the Pontefract connection.

Dave - You say you have one PIN 71 document but his full PIN 71 file will contain the information you're looking for and more besides. His PIN file reference is 71/1924. He died in 1927. These are available only at the NA but I get a well known researcher to dig them out for me. He sends them via Wetransfer and I upload them to my PC and also download them to a CD as back up. I'll PM you his details. Trust me. It'll be worth it.
