H. J. Hunt served in the 8th Battery R.F.A. and was awarded a QSA and a KSA. Could he have been 86366 Gunner Herbert John Hunt, 100th Battery Royal Field Artillery, who died of wounds in Belgium, on 24th April 1915, aged 43? Herbert John Hunt was a fishmonger by trade, the son of Charles and Mary Hunt; husband of Emily Hunt, of Glen Villa, 22, Carlton Street, Weston-Super-Mare; and father of Herbert John Hunt, who was also serving in the 100th Battery Royal Field Artillery, and was with his father when he was fatally wounded.

I think the Herbert J Hunt who served in the 8th Battery RFA was 34168 Gunner H J Hunt.
He also served in WW1 with the 35th Brigade but his medal roll for WW-1 has him discharged on the 17th March 1916. I believe he resided in Leicester.

86366 is another Herbert J Hunt who was also a gunner but died in 1915.

Thanks, Dave. Too much of a coincidence to be true, I guess.
