I am trying to find out information regarding a Major Müneberg a Compensation Officer at "Office Compensation Claims Pretoria"
I would be interested to find out what regiment he was from as searches on the internet have revealed nothing at all. I am assuming he was awarding compensation for property etc. requisitioned by the military during the war.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Please reveal your source for this information. An on-line search of the medal rolls for the ABW (British and Colonial) reveals no such name, likewise, there is no Muneberg on the NAARS data base which would indicate a Compensation claim or provide proof of his existence in SA at any time.

The name sounds distinctly German or Dutch - are you not perhaps referring to someone on the Boer side of the fence?

I have attached scans of an envelope which is the source for this inquiry.
It is addressed to Mrs. Müneberg - possibly his wife?
The oval cachet OFFICE COMPENSATION CLAIMS PRETORIA is on the reverse of the envelope.
The envelope is OHMS stationery.
