Hi,
I am researching the military history of the Grandfather of a friend who was awarded the QSA and KSA with an additional clasp on the QSA for Laing`s Nek.
His full name is George Bartlett Searle who later went on to serve in WW1 being awarded the Trio and Long Service medals. His number then was 89873.
The rim inscription on the QSA is "32086 GNR: G, B. SEARLE, 2nd W. D., R.G.A.". The inscription on the KSA is the same less the "2nd W. D."
There appears to be a conflict with the Regimental Number as searching on 32086 brings up Private Joseph Alfred Tanner who served with The Imperial Yeomanry!
I would welcome input from any members on this forum to help me with this issue.
