I am researching my family tree and would really appreciate any help in clearing up a mystery.
I have a QSA issued to "631 Tpr H RobertsKitcheners FS" and a KSM issued to "41222Tpr H RobertsAshburners LH". I attach the Attestation forms in connection with Henry Roberts' service with KFS and ALH.
The mystery is this - I am the eldest son of Edwin Roberts, he was the eldest son of Charles Roberts (all of South Africa) and Charles was the eldest son of James Ball Roberts who was born in Blandford Forum, Dorset in England. I do not know why Henry's medals were passed to me and I have been unable to confirm his relationship with James Ball Roberts.
Any help out there?
I wondered if I could locate a passenger list UK to South Africa as I wondered if they were perhaps cousins who travelled together to South Africa.
