My G Grandfather served in the Boer war. I believe that he was in the Siege Kimberley. I was hoping that somebody could identify the uniform he is wearing. The photo has a date of 1897 written on the back and was taken by a Kimberley photographer (J. E. Middlebrook). Any information on photo or regiment would be appreciated

I'm no good with uniforms - hopefully someone will be along to assist - but I can confirm that he served with the Kimberley Volunteer Regiment in the Boer War.

He was also a Captain and served in the Relief of Mafeking with the KV's

Regards

Rory
