Hi,
If anyone has a copy of "The Transvaal in War and Peace" by Neville Edwards to hand and could just check something quickly for me that would be much appreciated... I found a copy online but unfortunately the crucial page is missing.

On page 383 there should be a list of City of London Imperial Volunteers, I am looking for a G Anderson, probably a private or L/Cpl. If you could confirm which unit he was from and his rank then that would be very helpful. A scanned image of the page would be even better if that's possible.

There was a certain 1152 Private GG Anderson serving in the City of London Imperial Volunteers.

That's him. Does it show which pre-war volunteer unit he was in?

I looked at WO100/231, so no, however, he would have been an original member serving with the Middlesex Rifle Volunteers.

He was a Civil Servant, so I'm guessing he'll be in one of the Middlesex's Civil Service contingents.
