I came across his 'missing' notice in the Lancaster Guardian of 5.12.1915, although he appears to have died on 26th September 1915. www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/1763812/GLOVER,%20JOHN%20T

He was a Lancaster man and had three brothers who also served in WW1, two of whom also died. Does anyone know anything about his ABW service, possibly in the King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment)?

FMP has a couple of pages of military records from 1899 for a John Thomas Glover, age 18 of St Thomas's, Lancaster. Is that your chappie?

Thanks very much. I'm betting it is and that could explain why his name isn't on any memorial plaques in churches in Lancaster as St Thomas's is an Evangelical Anglican church and has no memorial plaques of any description.

St Thomas' is the parish where he lived, not necessarily the name of the church he attended.

Thanks, I realise that and, of course, he may well not have attended a church anyway. I'll do some digging in the local newspaper files.
