Hi there,
I'm new to the forum...
A great uncle of mine served in the Boer War.

Private Sydney George Kibble
Service No: 122
'C' Company 2nd Queensland Mounted Infantry.

I researched that he received the QSA Medal with 4 clasps.
Cape Colony, Driefontein, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill.

Unfortunately no-one in my fsmily knows what happened to his medals
He also served in 1st King Edward's Horse in the Great War.
As a tribute to him, I want to mount replicas of his medals.
Snooping on the net/ebay QSA medals appear, but the clasps all vary.
I haven't been able to find a replica with the specific 4 clasps.
Does anyone know where I could obtain a replica with the correct clasps ?
Preferably from a site/store that won't bust the bank !
I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to this...
Any feedback/input would be most appreciated.
Cheers

Welcome aboard, Wig!
I know Bigbury Mint does copy QSAs with clasps to order. I've never bought one from them so haven't actually inspected the product but I have seen some of their unofficial commemoratives and the quality was fine. Price uh...

Wig,

Welcome to the site.

Another option would be buy an original but erased QSA, purchase the original clasps as singles and then have the medal reconstituted. This would be a more expensive route and would take some time to do but you would then have an original medal from the period.

Just a thought.

Best wishes
David

Hi there David,
Thanks for the welcome...
I'd never thought of that option.
Agreed it could be a bit expensive, but from the period would be pretty cool.
Cheers
