Frank,

I won't waste my time with "Jacob". These name changes are only important to some of the population, for me personally the names will always be those of the good old days.

Sounds rather hectic coming from a Brit that served for 6 years in the SAAF from 79 to 85!!! (Those where the days)

Regards
Adrian

Treurfontein (Coligny) was the scene of a clash between a Government force and rebels during the 1914 Rebellion. A Boer War veteran serving with the Government force, whose ABO is in my collection, was killed under a white flag while carrying a message to the rebels.

PS Frank, our friend Jacob will insist that in future you refer to the Pietersburg Light Horse as the Polokwane Light Horse.

Will he, well I'm not going too, moreover, I rather prefer its original name!

Thanks Mike.

Yes I have that. I run www.4cmr.com

Hope the contacts here can help me lock down which Treurfontein my relative was wounded at. I can find no timeline info for 43rd Co. 12th BN Imperial Yeomanry movements at all, let alone for 21 Jan. 1902, when he was wounded.

Always more questions than answers, eh?

Regards

Ian
