Hi Guys
I am researching a member of the Post Office Corps,
731 Pte C H Chamberlain who was wounded and taken prisoner at Waterval North on 31/8/1901.
If anyone can help with any information on this action it would be greatly appreciated as I cannot locate any reference to it.
Regards
Dave

Dave,

There were quite a few Watervals in SA at the time so I can understand confusion in identifying the correct one. Waterval North is one of the names for the farm and railway station on the Pretori-Pietersburg line, 14 miles north of Pretoria.

The station was used as a base for columns operating in the area.

From the casualty roll 721 Pte Chamberlain of the POC died of enteric 10 Jan 02 and was buried at Newcastle.

Regards
David

Hi David,
Many thanks for the information. Is the casualty roll available on this site and if so how can I access it?

Dave
