While broach marks on medals are not uncommon, it is unusual to see some of the forms of suspension adopted.

Here the suspender and (presumably) clasps have been replaced with a looped, gold ring.

The medal is very lightly named to 407 Tpr: D Laing Kitchener’s F S.

What a terrible thing to do to an honest QSA! Does it look like an attachment for a watch chain (shudder) or else made into a pendant for a lady to wear?
Best Regards
IL.
