Why can I not find my grandfather's name in the list of recipients of the DCM. Its not listed on this site, nor in a specialist book I obtained from my local library, nor can I find a mention in the London Gazette.
I attach photo of the medals, all engraved with his name, initial and service no 77493 RFA, but no date is given.
Anyone give me any guidance?
Tony Collins

Tony,

I can see that the QSA was issued off the 7th RFA roll with 5 clasps (no TH) and KSA off the 88th RFA.

2nd Cpl J Collins of the ASC received the DCM but I am struggling to find a record of the award of your DCM.

I will keep searching.

It is possible for you to upload a picture of the naming on the DCM please?

With thanks
David

David,
Thank you for your quick response. I am not aware granddad was a 2nd corpl. He was a Gunner in RFA. I will photograph the medals I have to show the naming and should be able to forward these tomorrow. I have a copy of his service record and have attached it. I hope it is clear enough to read.
Many thanks for your help.
Tony
