Good Morning Everyone…..

2013 has been a very good year for me and I would like to add the following as my last of 2013.

7634 L. Corpl. J. (James) Robson, Royal Highlanders

Bars: Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal South Africa 1901

Army Form B50 – The Small Book

Comrade’s Letter (as follows), looks like instructions to an engraver for a plaque(s) to be made for some hospital beds:

This bed is endowed by the comrades and friends of Lc. Corpl. James Robson 2nd Battn Royal Highlanders, who having endured hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ laid down his life for his country in S. Africa 1902

FEAR GOD AND HONOUR THE KING

To the memory of the men of the 2nd Battn Royal Highlanders who fell in the S. African War 1899-1902. This bed is endowed by their sorrowing comrades.

Mike

P.S. Would love to give nice long stories as Rory does.....

MIke,

That is excellent. A nice way to end 2013 :)

Yes, I agree, we could all improve how to write up the biographies of our men. Once done, they stand as long lasting tributes to these otherwise forgotten soldiers.

Best wishes

Very nice Mike, I have not recorded a hospital bed in his name.

As you know he died in 1902 but for some reason is not marked for the SA02 clasp on the medal roll.
