The district of Elliot is some way from the border with the OFS so like the neighbouring Wodehouse Yeomanry , they probably patrolled the district's borders. Their entitlement to the CC clasps is crossed through on the roll signifying that they did not leave Cape Colony.

Like Lt Bredin's QSA, several men also served in Driscoll's Scouts and there were also medals issued from the nearby Indwe as well as Cala Town Guards and Dordrecht DVG.

The medal roll in WO100/281 states that they were 'called out for active military duty against the enemy and
actually engaged with the enemy’.

Other than Lt Bredin's QSA, the only other one I have seen is to Pte N W Kruger, with whom this thread started.

Kruger's QSA was sold by City Coins in June 2004 where it was described as a 'very elusive unit' and sold again by Spink last week.

Has anyone seen any others?

Dear David

I have a single with CC in my collection and there is a reference to another a J Nell on Bid or Buy but named to Driscolls Scouts

www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/317744971/Anglo_...riscolls_Scouts.html

Rare unit indeed.

Kind regards
