Jon,

He is listed on WO100/155p79 and p80.

On p79 the note says "Employed in the Military Telegraph Office in Bloemfontein in the ORC".

His rank is given as Civilian Telegraph Clerk in receipt of military pay.

A note against his entry has the date 8-2-1930 but I am not sure to what that refers.

Kind regards
David

Meurig / David,

Thank you do much for this info. I'm really impressed you can do that on a Sunday evening! Do you have online access to the WO records or a copy on CD?

Best regards,
Jon

Morning Jon

Ancestry has the medal rolls (with a rickety index)
The medal rolls can be downloaded from The National Archives in pdf form for free
I have am constructing a new database of the medal rolls and casualties on my website - www.boerwarregister.com (alson on FindmyPast).

and there are names on this site (not sure if SC Allen is listed).
