Hi guys, I'm getting the feeling from the experts that Lieut. Cooper may not be entitled to a QSA but had one privately engraved. Attached is the medal and naming, I look forward to the Forum's thoughts.

I checked Canadian records for WW1 and found an Lt. Ashley Cooper enlisting at the age of 51 in the 11 Canadian Garrison Battalion. He's listed as a rancher from Wynndel, BC.

Thanks again for your thoughts,

Greg

Hi Greg......

Have you ever heard of the story Walter Mitty??????

He was a person who thought about being a hero or whatever and daydreamed about it.....

It is the same as believing you were entitled to a medal so you gave yourself one.....

There was a case in the courts a while ago, in Australia I think, where a man gave himself at least a half a dozen medals but he was caught and given a jail sentence.....

So giving your self a medal is "A Walter".....
