This curious QSA was sold on eBay yesterday. The seller does not say if it is named.

Not one that you would rush out to buy is it, unless the recipient was really interesting, then again, suppose he or she was and you are stuck with a medal like that! :(

I bid on it, but it went for over 50 pounds!

£52 in the end.

I was tempted as it was an unusual item and a quite well executed 'modification'.

Kind regards

Funny enough it does not look all that bad.

Fretting was common with Transvaal Kruger coins, especially those that were taken to the various POW camps.

Would be nice to know if it was still named?

Brian,

I had that same thought too. It is not possible to say from the pictures my the rim looks OK in places so my guess would be that it is still named. It would be good to find out one day.

Best wishes
David
