David
And the same seller's ELANDSLAAGTE clasp looks ropey to me. I suppose it depends whether someone really needs one.
Best regards
IL.

Despite having a few clasps on sale his Talana and Elandslaagte clasps are also dud. Among the fantasy clasps I note that the Pieters Hill clasp is mis-spelled as 'Peiters Hill'.

Hi David, As you may remember, many years ago I was 'into' Battle of Britain medal groups and we were always having problems with the BOB clasp as to whether or not they were genuine etc. These days, an original clasp goes for £ 1500 to £ 2000 so you don't really want to get it wrong!

My point is this, we published a very important document that clearly showed the original and what to look for etc. and it was very well received by the market place and dealers. Can someone from the ABW.com publish or make available something similar. I recently sold a few QSA's on DNW and David Erskine-Hill was extremely diligent and helpful in pointing out copy clasps so that they could be catalogue correctly - they still sold for very good prices I might add.

I've read through all the documentation over the past few years and found it extremely useful but given there are 26 clasps, I would love to have a concise document showing originals and copies for each one.

Is this a possibility?

Whilst QSA clasps are never going to reach the heights of the cost for a BOB clasp, I should point out that a mere 10 years ago a BOB clasp could be bought for a mere £ 600 so in 10 years time who knows what something like a Wepener clasp will be worth.
