Spink have just released the catalogue for their medal sale on 25 Apr 13. I didn't think it was as strong in QSAs as previous auctions.

Some of the prices were lower than I was expecting.

Continuing to attract strong prices are examples like the set of awards relating to HMS Powerful's time in Ladysmith. This one sold for £2,400.

I don't think a price of £2,400 was over the top these days, I also think it is becoming quite hard to actally get a bargain in the London salerooms, some prices do appear to be low, but, you then have commission and vat to add and indeed any other expenses that you might have incurred too, if you attend the sale in person.
I like BSA Co medals and I see lot 51 sold for £450, but, add the bits and its not so cheap, sometimes, I wish I could just circumvent the additional cost of buying at auction.
