Gentlemen,
Well, I'm going to rock the boat here, ,so, this is my offering, Burger Matthew Doyle of the German Commando, attached to the Johannesburg Commando, one of Adolf Schiel's men taken prisioner at Elandslaagte on the 21st October and one of about only twenty such medals issued!
He might have actually been pursued with the point of a sword or lance!

That is an excellent medal, Frank. There are collectors in South Africa who would pay handsomely for one like it.

Yes, I found that out when I tried to buy another example to a member of the German Commando from City Coins a few years ago now, the man was shown on the German Commando nominal roll, magnificent, I'll have it then, I placed a strong bid, or so I thought and I was not even the underbidder!
