Good Morning Everyone......

After making a comment in the thread "The Other Half?" I mentioned a single bar King's South Africa Medal......

These are fairly scarce but a number have been issued, I have heard numbers like between 500 and 600.....

There have according to my records two sold on ebay in the last 10 years, in 2004 one sold for $425.00 and in 2012 for $975.00.....

I would love to reunite mine with it's QSA.....

Mike

A useful list, thanks Mike.

Although no Colonial units are listed, I have one noted:

FH Vyse - Brabant's Horse, Cattle Rangers and Stock and Farm Guard - SA01 only.

He actually served to 31-05-1902 with the Cattle Rangers and Stock & Farm Guard, but was denied the SA02 clasp - because these were "civilian" units perhaps?

Mike and anyone else interested:
I can add another - Cape of Good Hope clasps Transkei and Basutoland (Cpl. R.H.Glencross, Willoughby's Horse; QSA clasps OFS, Tv, LNek (Leader R.H.G. Glencross, ASC; and KSA clasp 1901 (to 1210 R.H.G.Glencross, ASC.). Glencross served with the IBC and later the ASC. The KSA roll clearly shows entitlement to the SA1901 clasp and the SA1902 clasp entitlement is barred out in pen.

Gentlemen,
I like the pair to Hedley Vyse in particular, he has two enteries in WO100/369, on page 43 and a second on page 48, this latter with a note regarding the issue of his medal to his mother Alice.

Hi Ian,
Glencross appears to have a fourth entery in WO100 as a member of the Ox Transport Depot Pretoria, it gives his third initial as J rather than G, but, just as in WO100/249, it again confirms the issue of his KSA on the 11th of September 1905.
Regards Frank
