Here is a picture of Modder, the dog of the 3rd Grenadier Guards, proudly sporting is QSA and KSA.

A quick search of the rolls failed to find him but, based on the unexpected QSA to the horse, I haven't given up!

Hello David,
"Modder" appears to have a six clasp QSA! I would think a typical western front battle bar combination to his battalion.

Just noticed the use of the word "Brought" at the bottom of this post card, assume therefore "Modder" could well have been a Hensopper/Joiner!

Do you think I am looking on the wrong roll and should check for an ABO?!

Strictly speaking, I cannot see "Modder" being entitled to an ABO, but were there any rules that say that the ABO cannot be awarded to dogs?

A quick internet search reveals that there may have been as many as four dogs that were awarded QSAs - two of whom were "joiners" if not "hensoppers"
