David

I am already busy with a biography of Ingram using information to hand. I need to get hold of a couple of his books, which are readily available in reprint editions, which should reveal details of his life as an explorer of south-east Africa. He led a much quieter and more settled life after the Boer War, perhaps because he had contracted malaria on his travels and it probably continued to trouble him throughout his life.

His paintings are in local public and private collections and I hope to find, or compile a list of them.

This project will hopefully keep me happily occupied for a while yet. One problem is that South Africa falls into a summer holiday torpor during much of December and January, so it is difficult to get things done.

Regards
Brett

It's great that you have so many avenues to follow Brett. It sounds the ideal labour for those hot summer days.

I'm just off to scrape the ice from my car on this rather chilly morning.

Best wishes
David
