Hello,

I've hit a brick wall with my research here and I was just wondering whether or not anyone might have any information regarding on 30466 Bombardier G Day, Pom Pom Section, RA, formerly 3rd depot RGA.

He was awarded the DCM and QSA/KSA pair, but I can't find any information on the recipient, or any connection to what his DCM award might have been for. I did find his London Gazette mention, dated 10th September, 1901.

Any pointers and information would be much appreciated!

The question of citations for DCMs is frequently raised on this forum and the answer, in most cases, is that there is no citation in most cases.

You might be able to trace a MID that resulted in the award.

I see there are service papers on line and at the National Archives for George Day (born 1878 in Exeter, Devon). I don't think these will help with the DCM award but, if you do not already have them, they provide a wealth of information.

I'll try and locate those papers, and see if I can find any indication of what action etc he might have been present at for the DCM.
