Not a great deal of information on Pte.Nicholl died of disease 14th February 1900 at Ladysmith R.I.P.

A great medal, I see Nicoll is shown in both the Hayward Natal Field Force and the Palmer, alphabetical casualty rolls, the ribbon looks to be original too from your photo!
A pretty scarce and expensive medal these days!

I think thats really nice, so often the case that you can't put a face to a medal, in particular, medals to the rank and file!
