I have acquired the medals to 1816 Pte Robert Norman Brassey who served with the 21st Coy. Imperial Yeomanry (Cheshire) in the Anglo Boer War. Brassey described himself variously as a Farmer and a Gentleman and, after the Boer War, sold up his estate near Malpas, Cheshire and moved to Canada where he was a Farmer. He volunteered for service in 1916 and was commissioned into the 3rd Canadian Pioneers who saw service in France.
