Good Evening, I’m new to the forum, just joined.
I’ve started to research some of the medals I’ve collected over the years. One group I would like some help with is a Boer War pair to a senior NCO in the Army Post Office Corp, with an MSM to S/sgt(on the QSA, Clr/Serjt) on theKSA, and the MSM named to Walter William Godfrey.
The QSA has Cape Colony, Wittebergen, and Transvaal bars, the KSA the usual two,
Any information would be really appreciated, or any indications as to where to search. Thank you…AlexM.

Alex - Welcome to the Forum. If you subscribe to Ancestry researching the life & times of Walter William Godfrey (1872-1938) is simple. Researching his contribution to the South African (Anglo Boer) War of 1899-1902 and the Great War is fraught because his military paperwork was badly damaged in the WW2 fire.

Here is a typical example of his military paperwork:

As far as I can see it is impossible to say whether he served overseas in the Great War and thus whether he earned any of the 3 campaign medals.

From Public Family Trees on Ancestry here he is in 1911 - unmarried, living with elderly parents and his unmarried siblings and working for the Post Office. He married in 1915.

On Ancestry he can also be found on medal rolls but they just confirm what you know already.

Regards, David.
