My thanks to Ian for this timely information and picture.

BSA Co Medal to the MRF, QSA to Rhodesia Regt and KSA to Capt. SAMIF.

According to the SAFF casualty list, A J Forbes was slightly wounded at Mafeking, 12th May, 1900; although Hickman (Rhodesia Served the Queen) indicates that "Alec Forbes (was) shot through both legs" on 16th May, 1900. According to the Kaplan roll, Lt. A.J.D.Forbes served in E Squadron of the Rhodesia Regt. The Kaplan roll also says that he later served at the Remount Depot, Kimberley.

Thank you for showing a great group. The BSACo Medal must be one of the finest of Victoria's service medals. I was hoping that someone would show a RoM QSA from the Rhodesian Column.

Brett

David,

A wonderful sight to behold. I wonder if the upcoming City Coins Auction will have anything similar to get our juices flowing?? B)

David,
A superb group, are these in your own collection? seldom seen such a nice group for a member of Col Plumer's force.
BSA Co medals seem to have dried up too, I went to an omrs fair last month and I think I only saw two in the whole room!
