Willowmore provided a Town Guard, DMT and Railway Contngent during the Boer War.

There are 133 names on the list for the Willowmore Railway Contingent

QSA (0) (83 Pte. R. Craies. Willomore [sic] R.C.)

I presume that is a cataloguing error by Spink.

Spink also sold this no clasp medal in July 2019.

QSA (0) (Pte. T. Semmons. Willowmore R.C.)

Described as:

T. Semmons served with the Willowmore Railway Contingent from 17 June 1901; sold with copied roll entry confirming his entitlement to the clasp for 'Natal', a roll which includes the names of approximately 195 men who served with the W.R.C. during the conflict.

There is no entitlement to the Natal clasp. This is the regular 'Belmont - Natal' problem.

There was not a great deal of interest in the QSAs to South African units at Spink yesterday. The medal to Private Craies sold for a hammer price of GBP 70. Totals: GBP 87. R 1,880. AUD 160. NZD 170. CAD 140. USD 100. EUR 100
