TOPIC:

A much underrated medal, in my estimation, is the Transport Medal. I have acquired a group to the above chap which comprises;

- Transport Medal with South Africa clasp
- British War Medal
- Mercantile Marine Medal

What is slightly confusing is that, on this site, Bowyer is listed as having been aboard three ships:

I don't have the rolls and would appreciate anyone sending them to me but, I should also like clarity iro the above, is it usual to serve on so many ships over such a short space in time?

Good Morning Rory......

I can see the movement as it is within the same company...... And two within the same rank and one promotion.... Due to a crew shortages some of them were transferred from RMS Olympic to RMS Titanic so she could make her maiden voyage..... It is interesting that he is listed three times and would be nice to see his shipping papers...... Even though he was on 3 ships would he not only qualify for the first one.....????
