TOPIC:

Another group that joined the ranks in what has been a very busy "recruiting" period of late, is that to Joseph McWaters - McWaters served with the 39th COY, 10th I.Y. and was with Methuen's column in the Western Transvaal during the period that worthy was on the hunt for the wily old General De la Ray. He then stayed on, joining the South African Police where he was awarded the Faithful Service Medal. Medals are to:

- QSA with clasps CC, OFS, TVL, SA 1901 & 1902 to 23494 Pte. J. McWATERS, 39TH COY. IMP. YEO.
- SAP LSCGM to NO. 3056 (F) 2/C DET. SERGEANT J. McWATERS
