Good Evening Everyone......

Does anyone have by any chance a listing of the members of the following two units that served in the Defence of O'Okiep......

In the book by Kieran he states that small detachments of both units were there and I would just like to find out who..... Neither unit has the names listed in the book.....

CAPE GARRISON ARTILLERY
and
PRINCE ALFRED'S VOLUNTEER GUARD

After some searching I think that I may have answered my own question...... They have been lost in time.....

I went through the PAVG roll (100/264) and see that the main part of the roll was written in August 1901, before O'okiep. Thee are supplementary pages listing some additional names created between 1905 and 1908 but there is nothing in these to indicate O'okiep service. The notes often give their service dates in the PAVG.

So, the roll can shed no light on your query.
