Here's a lovely long service group to a man in the 10th Hussars and who served in WWI in the Yorkshire Hussars.

a. 1882 Egypt – El Teb – 1643 Tpr. G. W. Berfert, 10th Hussars
b. QSA – R of K; P; D; J; DH; W – 1643 Sgt. Tptr. G. Berfert, 10th Hussars
c. 1914-15 Star – 2328 Sjt. Tptr. G.W. Berfert, York Hrs.
d. BWM - “ Sjt. G.W. Berfert, York Hrs.
e. Victory - “ “ “ “ “ “
f. Khedives 1884 Star – Engraved on reverse: 1643 Pte. G.W. Berfert, 10th Rl. Hussars.

George W. Berfert went to France with the 1/1 York Hrs. as a Sergeant-Trumpeter on 17 April 1915, a good 30 years after his first experience of active service in the Sudan.
His MIC entry confirms that he was awarded the Silver War Badge and that his 1914-
15 Star was amended and reissued in 1921, undoubtedly with the addition of “Sjt.” to
the rank of Trumpeter. Entitled to SWB. Disembodied 13.8.1919.
