My grandfather Edgar William James went out to South Africa to serve in the Boer War in the South African Constabulary. When that was disbanded he joined the Transvaal Mounted Police. He became a captain. And later a paymaster at Roberts Heights in WW2. He was awarded the QSA and KSA medals, but we his descendants do not have them and have never seen them. Does anyone here have them or know about them? Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum. We do get quests similar to yours from time to time - and hopefully someone might just respond. If no response, you might try putting an ad in Medal News (Token Publications - no connection other than my being a subscriber) - or just the old fashioned method of checking dealer's lists, etc. The survival rate of QSA medals seems to be not all that high, given events over the last Century plus twenty years. However, you never know.
