The Cape Colonial Forces were created in December 1901 from many local units.

QSA (3) Cape Colony, SA01, SA02 (Lieut: F. M. Haybittel. C.C.Forces). Officially renamed.

He served between 1st December 1901 to 31st May 1902 with the Cape Colonial Forces Pay Department.

T. J. P. Grewar is also recorded as having served as a Lieutenant in ‘D’ Troop of the Uitenhage District Mounted Troop.

An example of a medal named to the CCF. From the earlier examples, it seems there was variation in the naming of medals to this unit.
