QSA (0) (2460 Corpl: R. A. Wade. Rly: Pnr: Regt.)

Spink say Richard Armytage Wade served with the 4th Battalion Railway Pioneer Regiment. This unit was raised with the purpose of protecting and maintaining the Railways during the Anglo-Boer War. Given the Guerrilla nature of this conflict they found themselves facing a good deal of action in the course of the campaign.
