I'm looking at those bikes and notice there are a variety of handle bar styles, no brakes and no gears. They must have been hard work to ride.

These look like members of the Cyclist Section of the Duke of Edinburgh's Own Volunteer Rifles. The DEOVR wore a distinctive hatband of dark red and buff diagonal stripes at that time.
