My Grandfather saw action in the Boer War with the Scandinavians from 1899 - 1902 and was issued with a service medal which included his stint at Maggersfontein.
It has/was in our family possession until the death of my brother and then mysteriously disappeared and I suspect was stolen.
Does anybody know how this medal found it's way into a collectors hands, I really would appreciate any assistance regarding this medal.
My Grandfathers name was : JOHANNES REINIERUS BESSELING
