A recent purchase off our favourite on line auction site.

Q.S.A., C.C., OFS, Trans, S.A.01. 1186 Pte T.A. CORFE Kimberley Volunteer Regt.

Thomas Arnold Corfe served in -
Cape Police, 832, 10/4/1900 to 20/8/1900.Disch for misconduct.
Diamond Fields Hse / Kimb.Vol. Regt., 21/8/1900 to 4/6/1901.
Border Scouts,754, 10/7/1901 to 14/12/1901.
Orange River Scts, 52 & 41275, 31/0301902 to 30/6/1902.

UK Archives have a file on a TA Corfe who enlisted in the Royal Marines during the early 1890's, but I don't know at this stage if it is the same man.

His 'misconduct' with the Cape Police doesn't seem to have held back his further service. He made Sgt with the Border Scts and as you can see was a serial enlistee. Corfe is entitled to the 02 clasp for service in the O.R.Scts.

If any member has any further information on T A Corfe it will be greatly appreciated.
