Discharged 03 Jan 1901 from Roberts Horse and then served with Midland Mounted Rifles. KIA 20 Jun 1901 at Waterkloof.

From City Coins #18, c April 1973. Reserve R50

QSA (5) Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg, Driefontein, Johannesburg, SA 1901 (Capt. M. Browne. Roberts' Horse)

Wounded at Senna's Post <Wien the column supporting "Q" Bty. RHA, was attacked by General De Wet. He served at the Relief of Kimberley and in the operations north of Paardeberg and Driefontein and those around Johannesburg. At the sharp fighting near Heidelberg on the north side of the River Vaal on the 23rd of June 1900, he was again wounded.

This should read M.U. ie medically unfit
