You can get a bit more detail on what is called a Form B, from the Pretoria archives. You may need a researcher to help. It will list the battles he was in. It is the form he filled in to claim the medal.

For ZAR 100 he'll send you a copy of the Form B which will give you a fair bit of information about your man
