Hi
I am the great great Grandson of the G Heath mentioned in the article. Me and my cousin have traced every descendant to try and locate his medals but we cant find them. I have attached the newspaper article for you because it has a black and white picture of the medal

Stiz,

Many thanks for your post. It is great to see what the Ashton medal looks like.

Fingers crossed his medals will one day come to light.

Best wishes

There's one in Ashton-in-Makerfield Library reference section - "Lancashire Hussars Yeomanry Cavalry," by David A. Fearnley, in two volumes.

Is there anything specific you'd like me to look up?

I've been in contact with David Fearnley, and he tells me that he's never been able to locate an example of this medal, and there were at least 18 made. Additionally, I've heard from Jack Moulding's daughter, in Canada, and she had never heard of this medal until recently. So I think he probably left it with family in Ashton when he emigrated to Canada in 1910.
